Architect, curator and writer Joseph Grima, is La Triennale di Milano Chief Curator for design, fashion and crafts. Since 2017, he has been the Creative Director of the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2014 he was appointed Artistic Director of Matera European Capital of Culture 2019. He is a founder and partner at Space Caviar, an architecture and research practice operating at the intersection of design, technology, critical theory and the public realm. The studio produces built work, publications, exhibitions and films that have been presented at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, Vitra Design Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Barbican, among others. From 2014 to 2017 he was Director of IdeasCity, an itinerant programme of conferences and residencies organised by the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. He also was editor-in-chief of Domus Magazine from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he was appointed Co-Curator of the first Chicago Architecture Biennial and co-directed, in 2012, the first Istanbul Design Biennial. Throughout his exceptional career he curated numerous biennials and exhibitions in Europe, the US and Asia.
