This summer, Mudam invited Nous Vous from London to take over the Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Pavilion, the museum‘s dedicated educational space.

Join the visiting professors Jay Cover, William Luz and Nicholas Burrows for a weekend of seminars, talks and workshops exploring our thoughts; how we think about the world and how that affects how we think about art.

Ranging from the formal to the frivolous, there will be a range of activities of varying length, complexity and involvement, for ages 12+.
No experience necessary, just bring your thoughts.

Drawing Machine

Collaborative illustration workshop using the wacky drawing machine Nous Vous developed during their six-month residency at London’s House of Illustration. Drawings are made in groups of three.

Single frame drawing workshop based on Ad Reinhardt’s satirical cartoons. Draw and / or collage a cartoon to be compiled into a zine to be printed on the risograph during the same weekend.

Naked Drawing

This “no nudity” workshop is a blind drawing session guided by artist William Luz. The aim is to explore drawing free of inhibitions and to think about how we instinctively look at the world, and how our preconceptions guide our perception.

We Start / We Finish

PARTICIPATORY LECTURE
William Luz has been contributing a monthly dance piece to the american underground newspaper 'The Smudge’ throughout 2017. A dance piece is performed every-time someone reads it. This unique reading will be illustrated by accompanying drawings. Participation encouraged.
