CHAD MCCAIL
In his work, Chad McCail (1961) combines drawing and graphic design, in order to obtain a direct and simple visual language. His narrative compositions are obvious on one hand but, on the other one, full of details questioning the human condition in the light of power, desire and innocence.
Ouroboros
“The snake is an old symbol. Its moulting ability stands for rebirth and immortality. That's why it is often connected to the changing of seasons as well, with the disappearance of vegetation in autumn and its reemerging in spring. Represented as a circle, biting its own tail, the Ouroboros stands for this continuity and illustrates the inherent principle of ecological systems: each thing nourishes itself of another thing and the individual elements constitute the great Whole.”
